5-star Winery Rating for Trentham Estate
Trentham Estate is excited to announce its 5 star winery rating in the 2015 edition of the James Halliday Australian Wine Companion.
James Halliday has continued to commend the winemaking expertise of Anthony Murphy and his team, praising the ‘remarkably consistent tasting notes across all wine styles from all vintages’ and stated that ‘the value for money is unfailingly excellent’.
The top rated wines in the 2015 edition Wine Companion from Trentham include the2012 Family Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2010 Estate Noble Taminga – both receiving 94 points.
The Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon was noted by Halliday as having its fruit ‘picked at the right moment’ while the Noble Taminga is acclaimed as ‘another rabbit from the Trentham hat’ and ‘half the typical price for this style’.
Trentham is the only winery in the Murray Darling region to currently hold a 5 star rating from James Halliday.
Winemakers Anthony Murphy, Shane Kerr and Mark Holm along with viticulturist Patrick Murphy and the vineyard and cellar teams are very proud of this achievement and look forward to continuing to create the high quality wines Trentham is known for.
