A good start to the wine show season….

We’ve had a win with a few of our alternate varieties at the Sydney Royal Wine Show held in July.  We are thrilled to announce Trentham took home the following accolades:

2015 The Family Vermentino   96 points                           TOP GOLD (Class 15: Other White Varietal Wines)

2014 The Family Nebbiolo        93 points                           SILVER , Top scoring Nebbiolo (Class 40: Other Red Varietals)

2013 Estate Taminga                  90 points                           SILVER , Top scoring Taminga (Class 19: Sweet White Wine)

More success has been seen at the recent 2016 James Halliday Chardonnay Challenge.  The wine show has grown in stature and purpose to become a highly professional and influential show.  This is a wine show whose only agenda is to track down, appreciate and reward the best that Australian chardonnay can offer.

“Chardonnay is enjoying its spring weather, after a prolonged, dark winter. Winemakers, wine writers, retailers, restaurateurs and consumers are all agreed: it is better than ever before. But winemakers, being winemakers, are not content to rest on their laurels. The challenge is (as ever) to make even better wines next vintage (and each vintage thereafter) than ever before. And this is what the Challenge is all about.” ~ James Halliday

2013 Family Reserve Tasmania Chardonnay            90 POINTS
