We're proud to announce our 2024 Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon has been awarded a Gold medal and an outstanding 95 points at the prestigious 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards.
This remarkable achievement follows an exceptional run of success at Decanter, including our 2025 Best in Show award for the 2023 Heathcote Shiraz and a Silver medal for the 2021 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.
The recognition adds further momentum to the 2024 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, building on the success of the previous 2021 vintage, which earned multiple Gold and Silver medals at both domestic wine shows and international competitions, setting a high benchmark that the 2024 vintage has already exceeded on the world stage.

The 2024 Vintage
Driven by a desire to celebrate the very best of Australia’s wine-growing regions, we created our Reserve Label- a collection that showcases exceptional regional character and winemaking craftsmanship.
Each wine begins with carefully selected parcels of premium fruit sourced from regions and vineyard’s that demonstrate outstanding quality and potential. Following harvest, the fruit is transported directly to our winery, where it is expertly crafted by our winemaking team to express the unique qualities of its origin.
Trentham Reserve is a true reflection of regional excellence, highlighting the distinctive characteristics of each varietal while paying tribute to the richness and diversity of Australia’s wine landscape. Elegant, refined, and exceptional in quality, these wines represent the pinnacle of our commitment to showcasing the finest expressions of Australian wine regions.
Cabernet Sauvignon vines are perfectly suited to the Coonawarra region, where a magical combination of terra rossa soils and a cool maritime climate consistently produces grapes of exceptional quality.
The 2024 growing season delivered warm, dry conditions and a lighter crop, resulting in fruit with impressive concentration and flavour intensity. The cool ripening period allowed the grapes to mature slowly, retaining natural acidity and developing the hallmark finesse that defines great Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.
Harvested in early April, the fruit displayed excellent colour intensity and depth of flavour, providing the foundation for a wine with both immediate appeal and outstanding ageing potential.
Winemaking
Following harvest, the grapes underwent a seven-day fermentation before being gently pressed. The wine was then matured for 13 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, allowing complexity and structure to develop while preserving the purity of the fruit.
Once revatted, the wine was estate bottled, capturing the character of the vintage and the unique expression of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.
Limited Availability
Demand for this award-winning wine is expected to be exceptionally strong. Stocks are limited, and to ensure as many customers as possible have the opportunity to secure some of this highly acclaimed release, a limit of two bottles per customer has been placed on all cellar door and online sales.
