We're delighted to announce our 2025 Cellar Reserve Verdejo has been awarded Gold and 95 Points at the 2026 National Wine Show of Australia.
This recognition marks a significant milestone for a wine that has quickly become a favourite among our Wine Club members, and with a limited amount of stock luckily still remaining, the timing couldn't be better.
A Vintage That Demanded Precision
The 2025 growing season was one of the most dynamic we've experienced in recent years. Characterised by warm conditions and rapid fruit development, it was a vintage that required careful observation, quick decision-making, and meticulous vineyard management.
Our Verdejo fruit was harvested during a cool night between a succession of warm days, preserving freshness and varietal character while achieving ideal ripeness. In warmer vintages such as 2025, timing is everything, and our vineyard and winemaking teams worked closely together to ensure the fruit was picked at precisely the right moment.
The result is a wine that beautifully reflects both the vintage and the variety.
A Fresh and Vibrant Expression of Verdejo
The 2025 Cellar Reserve Verdejo displays a delicate light green hue in the glass, opening with lifted aromas of citrus blossom and white grapefruit.
On the palate, it is crisp, dry and elegantly structured, with bright citrus notes balanced by soft green herbal nuances. Its lighter-bodied style and refreshing finish make it an incredibly versatile wine, equally at home alongside fresh seafood, summer salads or enjoyed on its own.
Recognition on Australia's Biggest Wine Stage
The National Wine Show of Australia represents the pinnacle of wine judging in the country. Bringing together leading winemakers, critics and industry experts, the show celebrates excellence and innovation across Australia's diverse wine regions.
What makes this achievement particularly meaningful is that only wines that have already received gold or silver medals at qualifying regional and capital city wine shows are eligible to compete. The standard is exceptionally high, with Australia's best wines judged against one another.
After receiving multiple silver medal results and scores between 90 and 92 points in previous competitions, our Verdejo's progression to a Gold Medal and 95-point rating is a testament to both the quality of the 2025 vintage and the dedication of our team.
For us, this award is truly the icing on the cake.
